About
The Department of Microbiology was established in the academic year 1993–1994. The department offers B.Sc. Microbiology and M.Sc. Applied Microbiology programmes. The curriculum is designed under the CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) framework to meet the requirements of research laboratories, healthcare sectors, biotechnology industries, and related fields.
The department provides strong academic and practical training in Bacteriology, Mycology, Parasitology, Virology, Phycology, and Immunology. Students gain knowledge about beneficial microorganisms as well as pathogenic microbes, their diagnosis, transmission, prevention, and control — preparing them for careers in research, industry, healthcare, and higher education.
