Association Activities
ELOPHIS
The department runs its own students' association, which conducts the intercollegiate function “ELOPHIS.” Held every January or February since 1998, it draws more than 100 participants from colleges across Tamil Nadu.
The aims of the event are:
- To inculcate teamwork and leadership skills among students.
- To bring out students' in-built talents.
- To build friendly relationships between students of various institutions.
The programme is fully planned and hosted by students under the guidance of the teaching staff. Eminent personalities such as Dr. T.N. Seshan (former CEC) have been chief guests. The department also conducted a two-day National level Conference, “NCONE,” in March 2006.
Extension Activity
To cultivate social responsibility, the department conducts a “Plastic Litter Collection Camp” every year. Students voluntarily collect litter in and around the streets of Potheri and hand it to a local disposal unit, creating public awareness about avoiding plastics.
